Mise is an AI-powered operations platform for independent restaurants. It reads your covers history, your menu, and your staff — and generates a complete service brief before every shift.
This is the full breakdown of what it does and how each feature works.
AI Service Forecasts
This is the core of Mise. Before every service, you generate a forecast brief that tells you:
- Predicted covers for tonight's specific shift, based on your historical patterns for this day and time
- Projected revenue calculated from your average spend per cover
- Food cost estimate based on your menu's recipe costs and predicted sales mix
- Labour cost estimate based on your staff rates and the recommended position plan
- Chef's notes — a 2-3 sentence brief summarising conditions, referencing actual weather and local events
- Position plan — a named staffing recommendation with positions, counts, responsibilities, and cut times
- Meal predictions — estimated portions per dish based on your historical sales mix
- Watch items — things to keep an eye on (weather changes, event timing, supply concerns)
- Revenue opportunities — upsell suggestions based on tonight's conditions
The forecast is powered by two AI systems working together. Perplexity searches the live web for real-time weather, local events, holidays, and disruptions at your specific location. That intelligence is then fed to Claude, which combines it with your historical data to generate the complete brief.
A forecast takes under 3 minutes and costs one credit.
Covers & Sales History
Your covers history is how Mise learns about your restaurant. The more data you give it, the more accurate your forecasts become.
Three ways to import:
1. POS auto-sync (recommended). Connect Square, Toast, or Lightspeed via webhook. After every service, your covers and revenue log automatically. No manual work.
2. CSV/XLSX upload. Export from your POS and drop the file into Mise. Claude reads the file — whatever format your POS exports — and extracts covers, revenue, and dish-level sales in one pass. You review the preview and confirm.
3. Manual entry. Log each service by hand: date, shift, covers, revenue, notes. Good for getting started or backfilling gaps.
Mise stores every service with date, day of week, shift type, covers, revenue, and any notes. This history powers the forecasting engine — the more services logged, the tighter the predictions.
Menu & Recipe Costing
The menu section is your food cost intelligence engine.
For each dish, you can track:
- Dish name, category, and which shifts it's served on
- Sell price
- Recipe ingredients with quantities per portion, units, and cost per unit
- Calculated food cost per portion
- Food cost percentage
- Margin per plate
What it tells you:
When you build out your recipes, Mise automatically calculates your food cost percentage for every dish. You can see at a glance which dishes are your stars (high margin, high volume), which are plowhorses (popular but low margin), and which are dogs (low on both).
When ingredient prices change, update the cost once and every dish using that ingredient recalculates automatically.
The menu data also feeds into your forecasts — when Mise predicts 30 portions of salmon for Saturday dinner, it uses your recipe cost to estimate tonight's total food cost before the first ticket drops.
Staff Management
The staff section stores your team with their actual position titles — whatever your kitchen calls them.
For each team member:
- Name and position title (Sous Chef, Grill, Expo, KP, Barback — your titles, not generic ones)
- Experience level
- Maximum covers they can handle per shift
- Hourly rate
- Notes about capabilities or preferences
Why this matters:
When Mise generates a position plan in your forecast, it uses your actual team. The brief doesn't say "you need 2 line cooks" — it says "you need Grill and Sauté, with Jess on grill (handles up to 90 covers) and Marco on sauté." It knows your people, their limits, and their rates.
Import options: Upload a staff roster (CSV/PDF) and Claude extracts names, positions, and rates. Or add them manually one by one.
Rota Builder
The rota is a visual weekly schedule where you assign shifts to your team.
What it shows:
- A grid of days (Mon-Sun) and staff members
- Three shift types per day: Lunch, Dinner, Late night
- Click any cell to toggle shifts on or off
- Customisable hours per shift
What it calculates automatically:
- Weekly labour cost — total cost based on assigned shifts and hourly rates
- Labour as % of revenue — if you have forecasts for the week, it shows your labour percentage against predicted revenue
- Daily labour cost — breakdown per day
- AI position plan — for days with forecasts, Mise shows its recommended staffing so you can compare against what you've scheduled
The rota page is where forecasting meets scheduling. You can see whether you're over-staffed on quiet nights or under-staffed on busy ones — before the week starts.
Multi-Venue Support
If you operate more than one location, Mise keeps them separate.
Each venue has its own:
- Covers history
- Menu and recipes
- Staff roster
- Forecasts
- Rota
You switch between venues from the Venues page. Each venue has its own location setting (used for weather and event searches in forecasts), seating capacity, and operating hours.
Team Access
Invite your sous chef, GM, or operations manager to your venue.
Two roles:
- Manager — full access to everything: forecasts, covers, menu, staff, rota
- Viewer — can view forecasts and data but can't edit
Team members accept an invite via email link. Each person logs in with their own account but sees the venue data they've been invited to.
POS Webhook Integration
The webhook is how your POS talks to Mise automatically.
Supported systems:
- Square
- Toast
- Lightspeed
- Any system that can send a JSON POST request
How it works:
- Go to Venues → your venue → POS webhook section
- Copy your unique webhook URL
- Paste it into your POS system's webhook settings
- After every service, your POS sends the transaction data to Mise
- Mise logs the covers and revenue automatically
Your venue ID acts as the authentication token in the URL — keep it private. You can test the connection from the Venues page (paid plans only).
Shareable Service Briefs
Every forecast generates a unique brief page that you can share with anyone — no account required.
Copy the brief link and send it to your team via WhatsApp, email, or text. They see the full forecast: predicted covers, position plan, meal predictions, chef's notes, weather conditions, and watch items.
Useful for sending tonight's brief to staff before they arrive, or sharing with an off-site owner or GM.
Site Analytics
The analytics page shows you how your Mise pages are being used.
What it tracks:
- Page views and unique visitors over time
- Top pages visited
- Device breakdown (mobile, tablet, desktop)
- Browser and operating system distribution
- Referrer sources (where visitors come from)
- Visitor language distribution
This is lightweight, privacy-friendly tracking — no cookies, no personal data. Just enough to understand how your team is using the platform.
Referral Program
Every Mise account gets a unique referral link. Share it with other restaurants.
How it works:
- Share your link with another chef or restaurant owner
- They sign up through your link (free)
- When they purchase a Growth ($59) or Pro ($109) credit pack, you both receive 5 bonus forecast credits
- No limit on referrals — every qualifying purchase earns credits for both parties
Credits never expire. The Starter plan ($29) doesn't trigger the bonus — this prevents abuse.
13 Languages
Mise is available in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Italian, Dutch, Swedish, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Arabic, and Polish.
The homepage auto-detects your browser language. The full app UI — every label, button, form, and error message — is translated across all 13 languages. A language switcher in the navigation lets you change at any time.
Pricing
Mise uses a credit-based model. Each forecast costs one credit.
| Plan | Price | Credits | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $29 | 10 forecasts | Getting started |
| Growth | $59 | 25 forecasts | Regular use (most popular) |
| Pro | $109 | 60 forecasts | High-volume operations |
Credits never expire. No monthly subscription — buy when you need them.
What's coming next
Mise is under active development. The roadmap includes:
- Actual vs predicted tracking — log real covers after each service so Mise can measure and improve its forecast accuracy over time
- Ingredient price alerts — get notified when a supplier price change pushes a dish above your target food cost
- Multi-week forecasting — generate briefs for an entire week at once
- Deeper POS integration — automatic dish-level sales import, not just covers
- Mobile app — Mise is already a PWA (installable on iOS and Android), with a native app planned
Getting started
- Create your account at [agenticmise.com/login](https://www.agenticmise.com/login)
- Set up your venue — name, location, seating capacity
- Import your covers history — upload a POS export or enter your last 10-15 services manually
- Generate your first forecast
- See exactly what tonight needs before the first ticket drops
The more data you give Mise, the smarter it gets. Start with covers history, add your menu for food cost predictions, and add your staff for named position plans. Each layer of data makes the forecast more specific and more useful.
